Exparel in Wailuku, HI
Non-Opioid, Long-Lasting Pain Relief
When it comes to treating patients, we place a high value on reducing the need for opioids while controlling postsurgical pain. Our method is simple—we use minimally invasive surgery and we treat our patients with an exciting new medication called Exparel.
What is Exparel?
As frontrunners in oral surgery with years of training under our belt, we know that the best way to provide expert care is to stay ahead of the curve regarding the avoidance of narcotics. Exparel is a medicine that numbs the surgery site and keeps it numb. In other words, you will likely need only ibuprofen to manage any discomfort during recovery.
At Maui Facial and Dental Surgery we give you the care you deserve!

How does Exparel work?
We inject Exparel around the surgical site at the end of your procedure while you are still asleep or at least still numb from the anesthetic we used during your oral surgery, so there is no pain during the injection. This medication reduces levels of post-operative pain, and it provides for sustained release pain management for up to six days following surgery.
What services is Exparel used for?
While no procedure is 100% pain-free, Exparel is an excellent option for those who are concerned about pain because it allows for significantly less discomfort. What’s more, it provides for those patients that prefer to avoid opioids and other narcotics. In fact, if you are in recovery from any type of pain, opioid, or drug rehabilitation, Exparel is a great option.
Benefits of Using Exparel for Dental Implants
If you’d like to avoid the use of narcotics and their side-effects, Exparel is an excellent opioid-free pain medication alternative.
We use Exparel to effectively treat localized pain during dental implant surgery and other oral surgeries and postoperatively.
We administer Exparel when you are already numb, so you won’t feel a thing.
Insurance often covers Exparel, making it a cost-effective option.
